Mr. Karl C. Glasbrenner, CPP, PCI, NLP is the Owner and President of Glasbrenner Enterprises, a nationally known and respected security and leadership company.

Glasbrenner Enterprises provides consulting, instructional and liaison services, security investigations, policy and leadership development to the United States defense and intelligence communities as well as leadership and community development to private corporations.

Karl believes in the value of a strong educational foundation for any chosen career path and therefore has consistently sought out the best opportunities for additional education and training throughout his career. He holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine University (4.0 GPA) and a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Corrections from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to establishing Glasbrenner Enterprises, Karl Glasbrenner spent many years in security, law enforcement and intelligence work. Beginning in 1975 as a police intern in the Township of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, Karl assisted in all aspects of law enforcement. In 1976, he became a Juvenile Probation Officer Intern for Delaware County in Media, Pennsylvania, followed by 5 months’ service as a Department of the Air Force Civilian police officer, and subsequent service as a commissioned officer in the United States Army assigned to the Military Police Corps. After his separation from active duty, Mr. Glasbrenner accepted a position as a Supervisory Supply Technician (Department of Army Civilian). In 1982, Mr. Glasbrenner became a duly sworn Special Agent with the Special Actions Branch of the Defense Intelligence Agency. In 1986, he accepted a position as a Counterintelligence Officer within the Defense Intelligence Agency, responsible for conducting counterintelligence and antiterrorism activities worldwide. Beginning in 1991, Karl Glasbrenner held multiple managerial and executive positions within the Defense Intelligence Agency, first as Chief of the Investigations Branch, then as Chief of the Force Protection and Technical Security Branch, during which time he was also the Department of Defense Executive Agent for Diplomatic Security Matters (representing the Department of Defense on the National Security Council’s Overseas Security Policy Board), and, finally, as both Chief, Office of Personnel Security and Director, Defense Intelligence Central Adjudication Facility until his retirement in April of 2011. For much of his career with the Defense Intelligence Agency, Mr. Glasbrenner was also a duly sworn Special Deputy United States Marshal.

After 35 years of progressively responsible executive positions with the United States Government, dealing with training, anti-terrorism, national security, counterintelligence and government investigations, Mr. Glasbrenner joined the private sector and created Glasbrenner Enterprises. Glasbrenner Enterprises, offers its clients the benefits of years of law enforcement, government security work, extensive educational foundation, and leadership training, with Karl Glasbrenner at the helm. The company creates personalized plans for their client individual’s or company’s security and investigative needs.

In addition to his extensive education and experience, Karl Glasbrenner has received many honors and awards. He has been the recipient of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship, the United States Army’s Meritorious Service Medal, the Defense Intelligence Director’s Award Medal (twice), and the Defense Intelligence Agency Distinguished Civilian Service Medal. Mr. Glasbrenner has also received the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Chorus Champion medal. An accomplished poet, he has been named one of the Top 100 Poets of 2003 by the International Library of Poetry. He has been featured in Who’s Who of Professionals, Who’s Who In America, and International Association of Who’s Who.

Karl C. Glasbrenner is a member of the National Rifle Association, Certified Pistol Instructor; Chairman of the Preemployment Background Screening Supplement Technical Committee of the ASIS International Commission on Standards and Guidelines; Vice Chair of the ASIS International Defense and Intelligence Council; the Penn State University Alumni Association; the Industrial Security Working Group; the Fraternal Order of Police; the Council for Excellence in Government, Co-founder, Vice Chair, Board of Leaders; the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals; the Alexandria Harmonizers Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society; the American Legion; the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and the Free and Accepted Masons. He was a co-author of the 1997 Vice President Albert Gore’s National Performance Review World Class Courtesy: A Best Practices Report. Mr. Glasbrenner is the principal author of the 2015 Trusted Information Provider supplement to the ASIS International Preemployment Background Screening Guideline.

Over the years, Mr. Glasbrenner has been a featured speaker on security-related topics in many venues, including the Director of National Intelligence Senior Security Seminar; ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits; the Defense Intelligence College; the National Defense University; the Industrial College of the Armed Forces; the Industrial Security Working Group Conferences; the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Security Assistance conferences; the Department of Defense Worldwide Combating Terrorism Conferences; the Defense Special Security Service Worldwide Special Security Officer Conferences; and the Director of Central Intelligence Special Security Center.
